The ideal candidate would possess:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of Production Supervision experience involving welding and fabrication.
  • A proven ability to motivate and lead Associates.
  • Past experience with MRP and using a Manufacturing Software System.
  • A working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Philosophies in an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Previous experience working with BOM’s, Routers/Process Sheets, ECN’s, and CAD drawings.
  • Analytical with strong problem solving skills.

Manufacturing Manager (Huntley, IL location)

LDI is a well-established ISO Certified metal fabricator operating in a modern, fully air-conditioned plant in Huntley, Illinois. We are looking for an experienced, results oriented individual to lead our manufacturing operation.

The successful candidate should possess a strong background in a variety of fabrication processes including lasering, forming, welding, machining, assembly, and paint. Experience with Robotic Welding and Production Automation is desired.

Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems with a demonstrated record of increasing productivity and output through Associate involvement and process and flow improvements is also required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Technology is desired. 

This position reports to the Company President and would be a key member of the Senior Management Team.

CNC Department Team Lead (Huntley, IL location)

Area of responsibility:

A team leader has a full understanding of the task at hand and is responsible for delegating the tasks to a qualified individual for the job. This position is responsible for daily CNC duties as well as prioritizing, organizing, delegating, and processing materials within the CNC department. In addition, this individual will be responsible for training and reviewing the work of team members to meet the established standards. The job description and tasks will evolve as necessary to meet current and future business needs.

This is a 1st shift position.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Prioritizes customer orders by due date and product availability
  • Perform daily CNC duties (quote parts, program parts)
  • Organizes workload for each CNC Operator
  • Sets up files for each Operator’s table, utilizing correct materials, bits, and cut speeds
  • Determines proper cut times and process requirements
  • Ensures CNC Operators are meeting minimum production quotas and checks for accuracy
  • Coordinates and communicates file needs with CNC layout
  • Ensures materials received from and disbursed to other departments meet Quality Standards
  • Determines and audits inventory status of items
  • Assures the work areas and aisles around are kept clean and free of debris
  • Stages and informs other stations of completion
  • Fills out appropriate paperwork associated with job order, and turns in pertinent information in order to complete job file
  • Completes tasks delegated by Plant Manager to meet production schedule
  • Coordinates with other team leaders as need to meet timelines
  • Ensures equipment is regularly maintained per manufacturer’s recommendation and maintenance is properly recorded
  • Willingness to work flexible and overtime hours as required
  • Willingness to train and educate others
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of computer operations including CAD/CAM software (training available) and Mazatrol programming knowledge a plus
  • Basic knowledge of measuring tools such as tape measure, ruler and meter gauges
  • Ability to read and follow written directions and shop drawings.

CNC Press Brake (Huntley, IL location)

Essential Duties:

  • Setup and document tooling and safe practices for Press Brake operations
  • Verify accuracy of machine settings to confirm accurate tolerances and machine functions
  • Operators will be required to maintain accurate parts
  • During operations, Operator will be required to maintain cleanliness of the machine
  • In process checks will be required by the operator to maintain all required tolerances and quality
  • Completes all required safety procedures prior to and during operations
  • Communicates all production related items to next shift operators or shift supervisors

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for operation, proving programs, operating controls, setting all machine functions, and inspection of parts to assure conformance will be required
  • Must be able to work from drawings and sketches, read and understand manuals / specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations and set up requirements
  • Skilled in organizing work area before and after parts are processed, stacking completed parts properly on blocks or pallet to eliminate double handling and work efficiently
  • Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine with capabilities. Report all machine malfunctions to Management.
  • Ability to calculate, blank sizes, bend locations, appropriate tonnage and tooling for each part being formed
  • Communicates with management, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
  • May perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Fork lift experience needed

LASER Production Handler (Huntley, IL location)

Job Duties include:

  • Remove laser cut parts from the sheets
  • Inspect, clean and place parts on skids per job order
  • Complete all paperwork required for each job run through laser
  • Move parts out of laser area to designated locations
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any safety issues to supervisor
  • Keep work area clean at all times
  • Capable of lifting heavy 50+ lbs. loads throughout the shift

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
  • Past experience in the picking of parts, assembly, and packaging of products in a light manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will have a familiarity with working from detailed work instructions/manufacturing orders and blueprints (drawings).
  • A good attendance record and a "can do" attitude are a must.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Team assemblers can perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis. May participate in making management decisions affecting the work. Includes team leaders who work as part of the team.
  • Package finished products and prepare them for shipment.
  • Perform quality checks on products and parts.
  • Review work orders and blueprints to ensure work is performed according to specifications.
  • Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular production process.
  • Complete production reports to communicate team production level to management.
  • Shovel, sweep, or otherwise clean work areas.
