  Quality Technician/Inspector 1st Shift

LDI Industries has a first shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) opportunity for a Quality Technician / Inspector with a minimum of one year receipt QA experience. Requirements for this position include the ability to read/interpret blueprints and use a variety of precision measuring instruments. Job duties consist of performing in-coming, out-going and new item inspections, calibration and the accurate complete of records or computer entries associated with these duties. Must be a fast-paced, multi-tasker, able to lift 20 to 35 pounds regularly and maneuver heavier work pieces with the assistance of lifting aids. Formal Quality training/schooling or ASQ credentials preferred.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Maintain log of material certificates.
  • Participate in cross functional teams to ensure that conformance to specifications.
  • Perform ISO internal audits. Reviews and stays informed of ISO requirements, comments and updates.
  • Support the manufacturing team by identifying and working process improvements, the analysis of quality problems driving root cause and correction action to prevent future issues.
  • Calibrate and maintain test and measurement equipment and the calibration system.
  • Supports continuous improvement through LEAN.
  • Maintain 5S levels in Quality areas.
  • Helps perform and coordinates the sorting of Defective parts.
  • Assist with other projects as needed or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma / GED required.
  • 2+ years’ experience working as quality inspection role in a manufacturing environment. Fabrication background is a plus.
  • Comprehends the need for complete and accurate documentation.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts.
  • Understanding and knowledge of production processes and procedures; written/oral communication.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • High level of accuracy is required.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiar with processes related to metal fabrication and machining.
  • Experience with quality tools, problem solving, and/or continuous improvement.
  • ISO 9000 experience preferred.

  Department Supervisor - Single & Multiple Spindle Screw Machines

LDI Industries, Inc., a leading manufacturer of hydraulic components and lubrication equipment to OEM and MRO markets, is seeking to fill a key position due to a pending retirement. The successful candidate should have a strong machining and tooling background with Single and Multiple Spindle Screw Machines, and a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate Associates. Will monitor and communicate production expectations and efficiencies to Department Associates and work closely with Production Planner on meeting or exceeding production schedule.

Standard responsibilities will include creating routings, estimating and quoting cycle times on potential new products to run in the department, and working with Company maintenance and coordinating outside vendors on machine maintenance and repair. Position will also support and enforce Company policies and procedures including safety protocol, and evaluate department Associates’ performance and participate in their reviews.

Proficiency in blueprint reading and with standard component measuring equipment in order to conduct first off inspections and in process cross checking as needed is required. Position will also actively participate in weekly cross functional production meeting, support tool crib functions and help identify and participate in the selection of machine tool improvements and upgrades.

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience with the set up and operating of single or multiple spindle screw machines and evaluating associated tooling. Previous supervisory experience a plus. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

  • 3D design and detailing of fixtures and custom tools in Solidworks to support production and company growth, training available as needed

  • Communicate directly with suppliers to select the best tooling and develop the best processes

  CNC Department Team Lead

A team leader has a full understanding of the task at hand and is responsible for delegating the tasks to a qualified individual for the job. This position is responsible for daily CNC duties as well as prioritizing, organizing, delegating, and processing materials within the CNC department.   • Prioritizes customer orders by due date and product availability
  • Perform daily CNC duties (quote parts, program parts)
  • Organizes workload for each CNC Operator
  • Sets up files for each Operator’s table, utilizing correct materials, bits, and cut speeds

  LASER Production Handler

  • Inspect, clean and place parts on skids per job order
