Duties and responsibilities:
- Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping.
- Deliver or route materials to departments using hand-truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
- Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
- Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or record-keeping purposes.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Past experience in the timely storage, picking, packaging and shipment of products preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have previous familiarity in working with computer based shipping system (UPS Worldwide preferable).
- Past exposure to material handling equipment, include of fork-lifts a real plus.
- A good attendance records and a “can do” attitude are a must.
- Must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 50 to 75 pounds.
- First shift core work hours 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. CST Monday – Friday with occasional overtime. Second shift core work hours 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. CST Monday – Thursday.

LDI Industries, a leading designer and manufacturer of hydraulic components and lubrication equipment is looking for an experienced material and planning professional to lead our purchasing, production planning, inventory management and shipping departments. This key position could be based either out of Manitowoc, Wisconsin or Huntley, Illinois depending on successful applicant’s preference and qualification. This position will be a member of our Management Team reporting directly to the Company President.
The desired candidate will have:
- Minimum 10-15 years of related experience working in an Industrial metals manufacturing environment.
- Must have a proven track record in leading the sourcing, negotiations and vendor rationalization activities.
- Strive for 100% on time deliveries through proper materials management and execution while optimizing working capital.
- Key goals beside on-time delivery will be inventory accuracy and contributing to plant efficiencies.
- Strong background in production planning with proficiency navigating an ERP system is also required.
- Experience with visual capacity tools for MRP analysis is a plus.
- Possesses the ability to address or respond to customer shipping, packaging, bar code and manifest questions or requirements.
- The successful candidate will be expected to develop programs and challenge reports to continually improve department performance through systems utilization and process improvements.
Our preferred candidate must have a strategic perspective and possess a proactive, engaging leadership style that motivates, solicits and recognizes team contributions. Excellent communication and listening skills would be expected along with a proficiency in Microsoft Office. A degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or Business required. Professional certification CPM, CPIM a plus.
LDI operates two plants with both high mix low volume and high mix high volume product offerings with a wide range of machining, fabricating and assembly processes. The Account Territory Manager is responsible for increasing business in existing accounts as well as pursuing new markets and customers. The right candidate must be able to interface with customers at multiple levels (commercial, technical and management) and deliver the value propositions LDI Industries offers.
The candidate must be a results-driven sales professional, with a record of achievement demonstrating initiative, perseverance and aptitude. This position is responsible for calling on OEM and Distributor accounts.
Sales territory will include Northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Iowa, and Minnesota. Travel, including day trips, should be approximately 50% of your time calling on existing and prospective customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop broad and deep relationships with customers’ procurement, engineering, and management to advance LDI’s comprehensive product line.
- Conduct inside / outside sales calls to existing and potential customers to promote LDI products.
- Timely and vigorous follow-up on sales quotes and leads.
- Ensure the Company is positioned to capture new design opportunities.
- Analyze sales and customer data to identify Industry trends, customer and Company needs, product performance or limitations, etc.
- Assist in developing sales and marketing materials and programs including web based and social media.
- Performs account management on issues pertaining to pricing, delivery and quality, and follow up until resolution.
Qualifications – Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required. BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years of Industrial Sales / Account Management experience.
- Fluid Power or Metal Fabrication experience a plus.
